Albina Shagimuratova

She graduated Moscow State Conservatory named after P. Tchaikovsky in the class of professor G. Pisarenko.

Albina Shagimuratova is an honorary graduate of the Youth Opera program at the theater of the Houston Grand Opera where she studied (USA, 2006-2008).

Winner of the International opera competition of vocalists named after Francisco Viñas (Barcelona, 2005), named after M. Glinka ( Chelyabinsk, 2005; 1 prize), named after P. Tchaikovsky (Moscow, 2007; 1 prize).

In 2008 she made her European debut as the Queen of the Night at the famous Salzburg festival accompanied by the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra under Maestro Riccardo Muti. Established one of the world’s leading interpreters of part, she sang this role such stages as the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala (released on DVD) Vienna State Opera, Royal Opera House, Deutsche Oper Berlin, San Francisco Opera, Bavarian State Opera, Bolshoi theatre, Los Angeles Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Hamburg State Opera, the Lucerne festival and other venues.

In her repertoire- roles from Mozart’s operas, Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini, Verdi, Massenet, Glinka: title roles like “Lucia di Lammermoor”, “Semiramide”, “Anna Bolena”, “Manon”, also Elvira in “I Puritani”, Aspasia in “Mitridate”, Konstanze in “Entführung aus dem Serail”, Gilda in “Rigoletto”, Donna Anna in “ Don Giovanni”, Adina in “L’elisir d’amore”, Amina in “La Sonnambula” and others.

She performed at the Glyndebourne and Edinburgh Festivals, “BBC Proms”, at the Albert Hall , Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw hall.

Albina Shagimuratova collaborates with outstanding conductors, including Valery Gergiev, Riccardo Muti, James Levine, James Conlon, Patrick Summers, Peter Schneider, Zubin Mehta, Robin Ticciati, Andrew Davis, Adam Fisher, Alain Altinoglu, Laurent Campellone, Maurizio Benini, Edward Gardner, Pierre Giorgio Morandi, Asher Fish, Antonio Fogliani, Hans Graf, Rafael Frübeck de Burgos, Vladimir Fedoseev, Vladimir Yurovsky, Vladimir Spivakov and others.

In 2017 she played a role of opera diva Adelina Patti in the movie “Anna Karenina. History of Vronsky” filmed by famous movie director Karen Shakhnazarov.

In 2019 she became a chairman of the jury at the XXVI International vocal competition named after Glinka , and member of the jury at Tchaikovsky competition.
